Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Intervention Resources

Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) is a small group, supplementary literacy intervention designed for students who find reading and writing difficult. These students are the lowest achievers in literacy at their grade level and are not receiving another literacy intervention. Through systematically designed lessons and original, engaging leveled books, LLI supports learning in both reading and writing, helps students expand their knowledge of language and words and how they work. The goal of LLI is to bring students to grade level achievement in reading.
Carol Jago has taught English in middle and high school for 33 years, is past president of the NCTE, and serves as an associate director of the California Reading and Literature Project at UCLA. Carol served as AP Literature content advisor for the College Board and has published six books for teachers with Heinemann, most recently With Rigor for All, Second Edition: Meeting Common Core Standards for Reading Literature; and Lessons from a Writer's Life: Readings and Resources for Teachers and Students.
