Please note that this webinar series is scheduled for Eastern Time (ET). If you are in a different time zone, please plan your schedule accordingly.

Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher extend their work from Four Essential Studies and 180 Days with a deep dive into three essential studies. The aim is to move beyond compliance and formula to develop students' agency, independence, and decision-making skills. Composing involves picking and choosing among options. It is not about following a preset pattern. Students need to be aware of the moves and possibilities open to them. Teacher demonstrations, the skillful use of mentor texts, and effective feedback make choices possible. Reimagine how to approach essays, poetry, book clubs, and digital composition. Open the door to more engaged, connected, and challenging learning.

Learning Objectives
