Every person deserves a great education no matter their race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, or any other factor. Similarly, it is vitally important that the teaching profession enjoy a healthy diversity so that every child can benefit by learning from people with varied backgrounds and perspectives.
Heinemann believes the same principles are important in our workplace. We value diversity and inclusion. When we post job openings, we warmly encourage everyone to apply. In the office, we seek to promote a friendly, productive, and safe environment for every employee. In our publications, we aim to represent the educational needs of diverse teachers and students.
Heinemann Publishing is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that education should be accessible to all students and teachers equally, regardless of ability. To this end, we are continually improving the user experience and applying the appropriate accessibility standards.
Measures to support accessibility:
Heinemann products are designed to meet then-current accessibility standards. Newly developed Heinemann digital offerings are designed targeting WCAG 2.1 AA specifications.
We continually assess Heinemann.com and our related domains, properties and the documents therein using a combination of internal training and self-evaluation as well as external evaluation from well-established and respected vendors such as Knowbility and Deque. Pages and documents created by Heinemann are sent either as complete packages or in random samplings to these outside accessibility compliance and usability vendors for independent review.
If you have questions or concerns on the accessibility of our digital offerings, or have feedback on how to make our content more accessible, please contact us by emailing us at .

Heinemann Teacher Tour
Heinemann is today the leading name in professional development books and resources for teachers.
Heinemann Publishing was established in the spring of 1978 on New Hampshire’s seacoast, as a U.S. subsidiary of Heinemann UK.
After its initial founding, Heinemann quickly became the national leader in the publishing of professional books for teachers of language arts K–12 and has impressive and growing lists in math and science. In 1987, Boynton/Cook, the leading publisher of professional books for English teachers at the middle and high school levels and for college English teachers, joined Heinemann.
Heinemann’s Professional Development division is designed to bring continuing education directly to teachers, giving them the tools they need to keep their classroom practice energized. Our On-Site offerings bring authors and consultants directly to schools and conferences, all customized to the specific needs of educators. If extensive professional development is preferred, our residency programs bring our educators to schools or districts for an extended period of time. Workshops and multiday institutes allow teachers to spend a focused day of professional learning with a Heinemann author, and depart with renewed energy and practical classroom tools. And our Online opportunities give educators quality instruction at a time that works best with their busy schedules.
The demanding practice of a busy classroom is a challenge, and in 2001 we established the firsthand imprint, under which we publish professional, practical curricular materials that are a key part of the teaching–learning dynamic. Now called Curricular Resources, these materials embrace the progressive philosophy that has served as our publishing beacon for more than twenty-five years and are one more manifestation of our mission to guide you toward successful, fulfilling teaching and learning.
While there are several companies carrying Heinemann in their names and using similar logos, the businesses are separate. Our particular focus is on bringing quality professional development to teachers. We are proud to carry the name Heinemann and to fulfill our mission to support teachers in their professional growth and in the important work they do to further the growth of children.
