Jennifer Serravallo’s expertise in literacy instruction has been developed throughout her career as a NYC public school teacher and later when she joined the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP) at Columbia University. Through TCRWP, and now as an in-demand leader in literacy consulting, Jen has spent more than fifteen years helping teachers across the US and in Canada to create literacy classrooms where students are joyfully engaged and the instruction is meaningfully individualized to students’ goals.

Jen’s colleagues are former K-8 teachers, coaches, and school leaders with decades of experience teaching and leading literacy work who have been mentored by Jen for a minimum of five years. They travel throughout the US and internationally to support teachers using Jen’s books and resources.

How Custom Residencies work:

  • Custom Residencies begin with a school- or district-specific needs assessment to determine the best approach for meeting next-step literacy goals for your teachers and students.
  • Next, choose the number of days and a schedule that works for you and your school.
  • Consultants can work directly with teachers in classrooms and grade-level team meetings, and/or can provide support to instructional coaches who then work with the teachers.
