Expert Professional Learning – Connecting On-Site and Online PD

Regie Routman

Founded on four decades of mentoring, demonstration teaching, coaching, and leading in diverse classrooms and schools in the U.S. and Canada, Regie Routman has created a video-based, online, literacy series to empower your school and district to effectively teach reading and writing to all learners. Her Transforming our Teaching PD series expertly provides you the demonstrations, guidance, and resources you need to raise and sustain literacy engagement, achievement, and enjoyment.

Transforming our Teaching Series

Regie Routman's Transforming our Teaching series is designed to be a virtual companion and explicit, easy-to-use guide for principals, coaches, and teachers seeking to embed ongoing school-wide professional development focused on excellent literacy practices, classroom-based assessment, and implementation of the Common Core State Standards.

Each of the three programs in the series includes more than a full year of professional development sessions—14 in all—that works with and augments any existing curriculum and resources. Each session includes a detailed agenda for facilitators and extensive video (typically 30 minutes per session) of Regie teaching in diverse, authentic classroom settings. In each video, Regie provides insightful voice-over observations and analysis. Teachers report that watching and discussing the videos gives them the practical knowledge and specifics of effective literacy teaching that makes application to daily teaching possible and likely.
