The Teacher Tip

Reflect on the Results of a Change You Made in Your Practice

November 3, 2017

Adapted from Take Charge of Your Teaching Evaluation by Jennifer Ansbach

Consider how you know what the results of your teaching are. Where did you see changes in what students produced or the processes they followed to get there? How did your students feel about this change? How did you feel? Look for positive moments to build upon. Sometimes changing something as simple as a handout to look at things from a new perspective makes the difference. Don’t get bogged down in whether the change was big enough—look for times when even small adjustments helped students excel.
