Workshop:
How to Up the Joy and Ease the Struggle / A Virtual Mini-Workshop

Presented by Berit Gordon
A 90-minute virtual mini-workshop from 6:30pm to 8:00pm Eastern Time (ET). Please note that this virtual mini-workshop is scheduled for Eastern Time (ET). If you are in a different time zone, please plan your schedule accordingly. We love our students and we care deeply about our jobs. And we are stressed, exhausted, and overwhelmed. There is another way. We can choose mental and physical health as our first professional goal. If we don't take care of ourselves, we won't have a chance to get better at all the other stuff, and we won't have the time, patience, or energy to teach well. Our students deserve thriving adults in their lives. When we access strategies that help us stay happy and healthy in a demanding job, they will experience our best teaching selves, and they'll see models of healthy ways to be in the world. This 90-minute virtual mini-workshop will show you the way. Berit Gordon brings many years of teaching experience in New York City schools as well as in the Dominican Republic to her educational consulting. She is a graduate and former instructor at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her recent Heinemann book, The Joyful Teacher, is a collection of tried-and-true strategies that empower teachers and help them create an even greater impact in their classroom. Her other book, No More Fake Reading, offers solutions for boosting stamina, joy, and skills among adolescent readers. She lives with her family in Maplewood, New Jersey. Classroom teachers across content areas K-12, coaches, specialists, curriculum coordinators, and administrators. The cost of this virtual mini-workshop is $40.00 per person. Tuition also includes access to the recorded workshop for 60 days. To support your learning in this workshop, we highly recommend The Joyful Teacher: Strategies for Becoming the Teacher Every Student Deserves. Registrants will receive multiple emails from Heinemann, including enrollment confirmation, which also serves as your tuition receipt and contains some basic instructions.
