One, full-day workshop from 9:30am to 4:30pm Eastern Time (ET). One, full-day workshop from 10:30am to 5:30pm Eastern Time (ET). In this virtual one day workshop, you'll explore the eight continua that comprise The Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Continuum, Expanded Edition: A Tool for Assessment, Planning, and Teaching. These eight continua are:
During this virtual workshop, you'll explore The Literacy Continuum as a powerful link that connects assessment to instruction. There has never been a more comprehensive resource available to teachers that does what The Literacy Continuum does—provide specific behaviors and understandings that are required at each grade level for each continua. These behaviors and understandings describe what students will be expected to do in order to effectively read, write, and understand texts. As a part of this virtual workshop, you'll delve into how to use The Literacy Continuum to construct a common vision for student achievement that effectively and efficiently engages all students in the robust, authentic, and meaningful literacy learning very child deserves.
You'll also examine The Literacy Continuum for ways to look for specific evidence of learning from prekindergarten through eighth grade across all instructional contexts. You'll learn how each instructional context contributes substantially, in different but complementary ways, to students' development of the literacy process.
Participants will: Classroom teachers of grades PreK-8, literacy coaches, reading and language arts specialists, curriculum coordinators, and administrators. The cost of this virtual full-day workshop is $160.00 per person and includes workshop tuition; a copy of The Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Continuum, Expanded Edition (a $75 value!), which will be mailed to you before your virtual workshop date; a printable handout from the presenter prepared specifically for this workshop; a personalized certificate of attendance; and 60-day access to the recording of the workshop. Registrants will receive multiple emails from Heinemann, including enrollment confirmation, which also serves as your tuition receipt and contains some basic instructions.
