Mary W. Hill was a parent, a former elementary school teacher, and an associate professor at Westminster College in Pennsylvania. Drawing upon her experiences as a parent, teacher, and researcher of children’s written language development, she developed a series of workshops for parents and teachers about the importance of parents and the home in children’s literacy learning.
