Roseanne Y. DeFabio is Coordinator of Curriculum and Assessment for the New York State Education Department. Before joining the Education Department in 1988, she taught English in junior high and high school. She has been a member of the Capital District Writing Project for many years and frequently conducts workshops for teachers. She is coeditor with Charles Chew and Patricia Hansbury of Reader, Response in the Classroom (New York State English Council, 1986).
