Come to Class: Effective and Efficient Writing Instruction for Middle and High School Students

Overview
Drawing from her new firsthand publication, come to Class: Lessons for High School Writers, Carol Jago offers teachers practical methods for teaching writing that engages students in their own learning. Participants will learn how to prepare students to write to explain, to persuade, and to convey experience—both real and imagined. Drawn from her own experiences in middle and high school classrooms, Carol addresses the challenges teachers face working with reluctant students and with English language learners, providing help with what to do when things go awry. She will also offer practical techniques for handling the paper load. Time: 8:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M. The cost of this workshop is $219.00 per person. If you register 3 or more participants at the same time the cost is $209.00 per person.Who should attend?
